Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I just read it but can't find anything explaining the distance of the same type string from lets say the string through body or top loaded! The strings still have the same distance from nut to saddle but the string itself is longer behind the saddle if string through body. Is there a change in tension in this case? I know ticker core will change tension or shorter or longer scale guitar. Did I miss something from that article

I had a quick scan of the article. Are we all still agreed that going up a guage is the way to go?

Hi all, after my good experiences with the SC-450 Plus, SC-450 GT and JB-20 my 4th Harley Benton arrived two days ago. A TE-70 Black Paisley. I'm quite impressed. It came with no blemishes, fret ends need a polish as does the board and a new set of strings won't go amiss. The usual. The only thing was, that they'd forgotten to varnish the end piece of the neck where it joins the body. You know, the bit next to the neck pickup. The missus has provided me with some clear nail vanish for that.
They've incorporated the RoHs - CE sticker into the back of headstock with the Made in China. I think a peel off sticker would have been enough. It also has TE-70 Deluxe Series under the varnish too. Is it necessary? The new logo is better than before.
Apart from that it's perfect. The tuners seem OK, the pots and switch are fine. I'll probably put some black knobs on it at some stage. I think they would make it look a bit more rounded.
Does anyone know if there's enough wiring inside to turn the switch plate around? I haven't opened it yet. I prefer my switch out of the way, as I mainly use the neck pickup or the middle position and I keep switching to bridge when I play rhythmic stuff. A reason why I'm not a Strat person is because of the close proximity of the volume knob.
The first time I tried it I wasn't too happy with the neck. It felt weird. It's different than any guitar I've ever had. Strange though, it's growing on me. I'm beginning to like it. I like the string spacing too. Great for jangly, hazy stuff. Bending is great. Good for open chords. As far as the pickups go, they're OK for now. I like the neck pickup. Nice and smooth, round sound. Doesn't sound muddy to me. The bridge can get a little bit harsh. A friend of mine has some quite cheap hand wound vintage pickups in his Elite Tele from a guy on Ebay called Hermanns Guitars. They're great. Really. Maybe I'll try the bridge one on it or maybe some Irongears or even a set of Fender Tex-Mex. I'm not going to go overboard and spend more on pickups than the price of the guitar.
All in all it's a keeper. I like it. 4 very usable guitars have cost me less than the price of one squier classic vibe or low end Fender Mex. They all sound good and in a recording you can't tell the difference. Great. Cheers Freeman

It's my No.1 guitar the TE-70BP is I threw away the darn Roswells and the stock harness and loaded this beauty with a 5 way harness (from Ironstone) and new Ironstone pickups. Now this guitar sings beautifully.
