Due to musical differences I've decided I can't work with myself any more.

I think that Master cranking comes from BB King on his LAB amp. What cap is in the BL wiring? Might make sense on a solid state. I've heard the same for the Katana but I'm going to try it the other way too. My BL wiring uses a 0.01uF cap on the switch.

Most of the old players learned their chops on amps without master volume. So for amps with master volume they preferred to just set it at max and hence only worry about one volume knob on the amp (and of course use their guitar volume accordingly). I'm always impressed how much riding of the guitar controls some of the great players do. No need to be dancing on pedals!

Rory always took the direct approach to tone and stage sound. I read a post from his old roadie where he said that unlike most players who for example will signal to the sound-man if they think the bass drum isn't loud enough in the monitor mix, Rory preferred to just go over to the drummer and give him a little thump to signal that he wanted him to play the thing louder.

UPDATE on Ironstone TE Harness Pups;
As I mentioned before after I came back from my vacation I played only the TE70BP to see if it sounds good without me comparing it with the ST Ironstone pups which I like a lot! Yesterday picked the ST-62 and played it for a while just to put it back on the wall and grab the TE-70BP! The Tele now sounds much better, very punchy very clear, much more harmonic content on the G and D strings (just WOW how much it rings out on these strings). Seems like I have managed to find the sweet spot on the amp and most importantly the pickup height!
Since Im no bridge pup lover I care little about how it sounds on its own. Its thin. The neck sounds awesome now and the middle, both in series and in parallel sounds fantastic! I have 3 very distinct and usable tones! This guitar is now an absolute keeper and has a sound very different to the ST-62 which of course is what I always wanted. Different tone but very clear, not muddied, very resonant.
Must do a recording and send it to Tony as I owe him an apology and its good for him to know about my current specs so he can have it in case another customer has same complains in the future.
Still think the low E needs more clear punch. Its a bit too woody Maybe another drive pedal might clear that up or a Booster pedal even.

Nah, cutting lows just to suit the low E ain't good as the higher strings will go sharp (they are even now on the edge of being too bright).
What I do is strum the strings diagonally. I pluck the low strings closer to bridge, middle strings in the middle and high strings above the neck pup.
It's not an issue when whole chords are strummed as it gives a good bass in the chord.

LOL! Maybe we could swap bridgeplates Che? Only kidding I like a woody tone in a tele. Works good for the Charlie Christian and Grant Green licks.

I have bought a ,22 capacitor to try it out on this Tele. Will report once I solder it and replace the ,33 cap. Im yet to buy a new soldering iron!

I’ve read most of the 27 pages @chedapapa and not seen anything but have you experimented with strings? I swapped the TE-20 bridge and it lost “something” tonality. Put some EB Hybrid Slinky’s on and it’s a big improvement. Apparently they’re love or hate but work for me.

Tried 9's and 10's from D'addario standard strings. 10s seem better for this guitar. The pups sound very good now, I'm only nitpicking to really get what I want
