I'm sorry for having to point this out, but a lack of obvious motive doesn't imply he's telling the truth. No need to feel sorry And the lack of an obvious motive should not imply he is being deceptive and untruthful. As it stands now it appears the sum of parts are not adding up that's all. Just wanted to point that out!

Wake up defjef! On looking back at the modding my sc thread and watching the video again I have noticed a couple of things. 1. 2nd pic shows the old logo sc450 in the foreground with the new logo custom at the back (pointed lower horn). If you look at the truss rod covers, the old logo sc has custom on it. The new logo looks to me to say sc custom but its hard to make out. 2. In the video l have paused the start where the truss rod cover is shown but its not clear on my phone but it does not look like its just custom as in the photo? I am really beginning to revert to my original thoughts that the video is a hoax? It's almost what are the two guitars? And is it a 3rd different one in the video. Sorry about the Miss Marples stuff but I was bored! 🤓

Also the guitar in the video has 2 vol 2 tone so can not be a custom as custom have 2+1. There is something wrong we are all missing with the headstocks?

I've paused it, enhanced it and digitally removed it from its confusing background. Turns out it says this: Does that say johnnyhacker I can't make it out without my reading glasses.

That was Alexis Colby blindwilly3fingers. I think that body had a silicone instead of a polyurethane filler. Also a few mm of some kind of transparent lacquer on the headstock too!

That could be it salteedog! If general purpose silicone was used instead of sanitary grade silicone it could have reacted with the unnamed transparent lacquer! By jove I think your onto something?

More clarification from good old Lasse: "Photo 9 is a HB. Our factory also produces a few smaller local Asia brands names, for them we use different headstock, but body shape and processing is 100% the same as HB. Photo 9, is after primer only. This is the normal paint process: 5 layers primer (sanding between and after) > 1 layer color > 4 layers Lacquer (sand & polish after). Number of layers of primer and lacquer can vary little for different models, for SC-450 Plus we apply 7 layers of primer." That's quite a process. So the Basil Rathbone pipe and hat can go back in the cupboard 🕵
